Approximate translation of the review
Whether to call a spade a spade, as many call it a slap slap a musical musical! Such is the case ofIKUINEN KAAMOS, Finnish band formed in 1997, and EPs more after unveiling its first album Fall Of Iconsin a progressive style death/black metal ...

The track had already been parted by OPETH (which one group feels much influence in IKUINEN KAAMOS) but which here takes a turn quite different. In fact, in five Finnish us to meet even more pronounced for all kinds of influences, each more opposed to each other, between death/black metal and prog then, but also acoustic music tends to latino (as in the pieces Indoctrination Of The Lost, Statues or Apart), epic atmospheres (at end of In Ruins for example) and of course, the atmosphere quieter, planing and stakeholders, as the beautiful end ofApart, also marking the end of the album.

are found in compositions ofIKUINEN KAAMOS whatever it likes in a good group of death/black metal, through singing, the sound of guitars, the rhythms of Jarno RUUSKANEN or a good battery to blast by J-P RÄISÄNEN from time to time; and what we love in the style of progressive metal, as the delicate structures (one hour of music for only five titles!), the technicality and melody of solos to Juhani MIKKONEN of guitar or bass lines of Lauri SAARI, and the rich variety of influences, making the listening so exciting, never boring.

The vocal performance of Risto HERRANEN it is simply incredible. Whatever be the style of singing which he decides to attack, control is here! In a record black, it is a guttural tessitura to wish that it develops and can only convince (even non-gender specialists), and then cries when it is more typical of acute death metalidem, HERRANEN appears equally professional, but it is undeniably in its interventions in voice clear that the singer finally seduce the listener. Far from using the techniques "yelled" to hide any defects vocal HERRANEN control everything and then leaves a stamp find most enjoyable and easy. The

negatives? None! Production and performance are good, originality and talent is there ... No doubt about IKUINEN KAAMOS is one of many musical treasures that hide Finland who asks only to be discovered by all the curious ears. A écouter d'urgence!
