DEAFENING SILENCE

This is the second album after the interesting Edge Of Life released in 2003 (Brennus Rec). Edge Of Life was in the vein of HAMMERFALL, or as the band describe it as a mix between HELLOWEEN and IRON MAIDEN. A very good album, but not enough personal in my opinion. So here is the new DEAFENING SILENCE with a new singer and a new orientation. With Backlash the band shows a more attractive face, something we can call a Heavy Metal face!
11 tracks with more energy that will convince 80’s Heavy Metal Fans and melodic Speed Metal Fans.

Yes because in this CD you will find two kinds of songs, the 80’s Heavy Metal ones like The Straight Line, Hellbitch, The Sealed Of The Damned, Groundbreaker, Metallic Meltdown and some more, and others more melodic like Too Young To Die, Backlash or Judgement Day

The gems from this album are for me The Straight Line, The Seal Of The Damned and Nothing Remains!

About influences it’s more personal but it’s not easy (as for their first CD)…Well let’s say some touches of IRON MAIDEN, GRAVE DIGGER, BRAINSTORM, PROJECTO, and some actual Heavy Metal bands from Germany.

The voice is really a typical 80’s one with its limits sometimes…

Well about the cover I don’t like it very much…About the style and the quality I would say that perhaps with only 9 songs, the CD would have been more direct.

But if you like actual Heavy Metal with 80’s influences, DEAFENING SILENCE is a good compromise between the passed and the present.

THE VERDICT :

Considering it’s a second CD on a Label :

RASKAL the French Warrior : 15/20

RASKAL the Objective : 16/20
