After the glory
Approximate translation of the review
CHRONIC ECRITE IN 2005:
Revoilà
Midnight
the former singer of
CRIMSON GLORY
that had given us so many shivers on the two first albums
Crimson Glory
(1986) and
Transcendense
(1988)…
THIS IS
Black Lotus
that distributes this album in Europe in the form of a digipack.
The content one could await of an artist that ripened, evolved and that wants to stick with his era all while keeping the spirit of its beginnings.
That wants to say that those that hoped the continuation of
Transcendence
can go dress again,
Midnight
evolves in a strange universe, tormented, sometimes unhealthy but always coherent and reassuring. Titles calm mostly, in mood more than in force (a lot of acoustic guitars), in subtlety more than in stereotypical Metal; yes
MIDNIGHT
will please the most open ones of between you, to those that know to take the time of "to return" in the compositions and to savor them quietly.
I think that
MIDNIGHT
even can touch the public "Rock" of groups as
PLACEBO
(grieved I have not the decline of the friend
Ben
, our Rock specialist / Prog, on these groups!).
Cat Song
that finishes the album is all simply of the (very good) Country/ Rock additional proof of the difficulty to classify in a category this CD.
Some will be disappointed, it is sure, of not to hear rhythmic Heavy on this album, of others will be surprised, and at last of others charmed by so special voice of
Midnight
. As this is the case for this album type "out norms", I leave your heart and your ears to decide exit reserved to this
Sadaka
!
The small reproach will be for the Label that announces us wholesale that the words are available on the official site of the groupe…que one does not find anything leaves on the CD…
