Glam, sleaze and massive attacks

Approximate translation of the review

Working in favour of currents Glam, Punk and Sleaze, label Shotgun Generation publishes, to spring 2011, Bitches Palace, first long format of the Marseillais of RAKEL TRAXX, making following one EP 4 titles left in 2008.

RAKEL TRAXX perfectly compared its many influences, exits for the majority of Los Angeles : two of most notable name GUNS N’ ROSES and MOTLEY CRUE. The group practises one Hard Rock extremely energetic. For our greater pleasure, guitarists ZANTOLO and SQUALL multiply the massive attacks, giving place to very effective titles, sometimes threatening, with the image of Quicksand. Their riffs without concession, in particular that of Let Me Take Your Gun, would not have stripped the mythical Appetite For Destruction or G N’ R Lies.

At every moment, the technical control posted by the guitarists serves the compositions of Bitches Palace. In addition to generally high-speed plans, they deliver the rhythmic ones sometimes less provided, but which do not remain less aggressive about it. One very finds for example this signature on the refrain strongly saturated with hooker Prostitute’s Night. In addition, their interventions solo are marked by an impressive virtuosity, which does not exclude however an undeniable melody know-how. One wants in particular for proof the chorus of them according to the first refrain of Fuck You !!!

Moreover, the performances suggested by Shannon DOLLZ, equipped with a voice perched high, agree perfectly with the register of the group. From Give Me Your Love to Quicksand, the beaches of the album reveal its vocal great power. The singer can also cause much emotion. Thus, it delivers a poignant service on tearing Try Again.

Lastly, for multiple reasons, the group seems to have a spirit and an attitude in any point in conformity with those whose proof its heroes make. Its propensity to include the terms “ fuck ” or “ fucking ” in the titles of its compositions cannot be neglected. It is the same of the unambiguous winks to the triptych “ Sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll ” contents in S.E.X., Prostitute’s Night… like in the name of the album itself! Lastly, the pseudonym adopted by the bass player, Nikki DORCEL ARQUETTE, points out its counterpart of MOTLEY CRUEof course.

With Bitches Palace, RAKEL TRAXX thus carries out remarkable a first album, prelude, one hopes for it, with great adventures in regions Glam Metal and Sleaze !
